6:30 AM Weather Update ( 12/21/07 )

Light Rain shower's have been moving through the region much of the night. Despite the fact that this isn't a drought buster, we are atleast getting some rain across much of the Southeast. The system that is bringing the rain to the area, caused Severe Weather along the Gulf Coast states yesterday. The rainfall amounts from this system haven't been much, but here are some of the the total's from Midnight until 6:30am.
Hickory - 0.16"
Charlotte - 0.23"
Asheville - 0.16"
Boone - n/a
Morganton - 0.22"
Hildebran - 0.22"
Lenoir - 0.22"
Banner Elk - 0.11"
Winston-Salem - 0.18"
Taylorsville - 0.26"
West Jefferson - n/a
Murphy - n/a
Spruce Pine - 0.11"
Conover - 0.17"
Although most of the precipitation is moving out of the area, there will still be a slight chance for a shower or area's of drizzle throughout the afternoon. With cloud cover in place temperatures across much of the area will be lucky to get into the Upper 40's. I will continue to monitor this system and will more rainfall amounts later.
